Every song is poetry, a poem is lyrics, basically. The kind of poetry it is is musical lyrics for a rock/pop song. Mr. Brightside was the first song the Killers wrote when they became a band. It's about the dark side of the human mind when we feel extreme jealousy.

If you've ever heard the song you can tell by the amount of emotion in Brandon Flowers's (the singer of the Killers) voice while he's singing it that it really means something to him, and it wouldn't if it was written by someone else.

actually the song was not written by the killers,it was written by some guy (cant think of his name at this moment) in winnipeg.From what i hear he wrote the song about his girlfriend and he happened apon the killers at a mutual friends party and showed it to them,they liked it and now its a smash hit.
