I think the song you're looking for is "Oranges And Lemons Again" by Jools Holland and Suggs...it's on Jools's CD "Small World Big Band" (the first one). Hope this helps!

Strangely the song is "Oranges and Lemons again". There appear to be two versions (maybe). One is Suggs with Jools Holland`s Small World Big Band and the other is by Madness but this is probably just Interweb confusion because it`s Suggs who is singing.

hey man,me too was in this confusion.Just type the most repeating words that u heard from that song.Even If u know the type of sound,u can guess the year it was played based on the quality and instruments..One day i heard of the word "generation " in a song on radio just for few seconds. Then i was very eager in searching for it.Then i assumed the song title as "Generation" .But i got lots of song .Since it is somewhat like Rock and metal gerne,I refined my search. And finally got it.It is the Limp Bizkit's song "MY GENERATION"!!...The best way to search for ur song is by using Yahoo! Grouper.Coz it can search song using Tags.....Move on man!
