It would be helpful to have a more specific question. Anyway, here are a few pointers:
1. Some of the German government didn't want to host the games, but Hitler decided it would be an excellent opportunity to display German "superiority".
2. All the anti-Jewish propaganda was quietly got rid of, so that the visiting nations didn't see how bad it really was.
3. If I remember correctly, there was even a token Jew in the German team.
4. Jesse Owens, a black American athlete, won 4 gold medals. It has always been said that Hitler refused to shake his hand, but that's not quite true: Hitler always left the podium before the medal-giving, so didn't shake hands with *any* of the winners.
5. The German team won more medals than any other participating country - then again, the other teams were made up of amateurs, while the Germans had been training their youth for three years, to the detriment of their proper schooling; so it's hardly surprising they did so well.
6. It was the first time that television had been used to broadcast a sporting event to the world - the equipment didn't work very well, but it was significant, all the same.
7. As a propaganda event it was brilliant - huge worldwide radio coverage, TV, modern facilities ...
8. The stadium built for the event was also the stadium that hosted the 2006 Football World Cup Final!
Hope this helps.

Get your hands on Leni Riefenstahl's documentary 'Olympiad'. The film is a curious mix of cinematic artistry and repulsive Nazi ideology, but as a document of the times it is quite remarkable.
