Call your local state attorneys office. They basically handle all unpaid child support or if you haven't even recieved a payment they will find where your x works and start taking it out of his checks.

OK, I am going thru this RIGHT NOW !! My ex wife does NOT pay child support and I was sick and tired of it. It is not about the money because our great court system is only making her pay 135.00 a month but the principal of it. I to filed with the child support office and waited and waited and waited. Nothing !! So I went down to the court house and filed a wage garrneshment paper that they would send to her employer and the money would be automaticaly taken out. Sounds good right ? When she saw what would happen she quit her job ! So I started calling the Attorneys Generals office every day. And I went up there to file against her again. When they found out she had quit her job they started paperwork. But they told me that she would get several chances to make payments even tho she had not made 1 payment in 4 years. They told me to call them once a month at the end of the month and remind them that I had not recieved a payment. This went on for 4 months. Then they finally took her to court. In court they gave her 4 months to make payments or the said she would be looking at jail time...IMPORTANT...if they ask you if you want to drop the contemp charges, say NO !! We went back to court 3 days ago. She had made 4 payments but the court finally did something to her that has scared the hell out of her. She was put on 5 years probation for 4 different contemp charges. If she misses 1 payment in the next 5 years she will go to jail for 30 days for each contemp charge and will not be able to get out before the time is up unless she comes up with a BIG chunk of money. And she has to catch up on the past support at 6% intrest. I would rather have seen her do some time in jail but I will settle for this. Hope this helps ya'll out there and if anyone is in Texas and needs a GREAT family lawyer I have the best. We to had been thru mediation and she was told to pay then and didn't because no one would enforce it. It takes a while but you can WIN.

Don't make assumptions about why your wife lost her job. And even if your ex-wife told you that she quit her job voluntarily, that doesn't make it true. She could have been laid off or even fired but not wanted you to know the truth...or she could have wanted to "annoy you". And unless you were in the room with her boss when she was "terminated" (voluntarily or otherwise) or you are a mind reader, you are never going to know for sure what happened to that job. And if she has entered an educational program and not completed it, there is no way any court will grant you a support order based on her "potential" as she may not be able to pass that class. She has to have the credentials (ability to perform at the new level and in this economic climate, probably a job in her chosen career) BEFORE they can say this is her "potential" for the purposes of increasing her support. As for going to court yourself, you are wasting your time if the Child Support Agency said that they won't enforce the order for up to two years. But, if you like wasting your time, go get a lawyer and take her back to court. It is doubtful it will do any good but you are free to go ahead and try.

It is the job of the Friend of the Court to enforce an Order for support.

Take them the Order and and tell them to enforce it. It is that simple.

If there is no judge signed Order, that is why they are doing nothing. No Order, no action by the FOC.

You must pursue the matter through the Circut Court to get a judge signed Order in place.

Your mediator should have written an opinion for the Judge. If it was non-binding mediation I am afraid you wasted your time and money.

You are best to get a lawer and have him/her get an Order from the court.

Good luck!

Yes go through your State Attorney General office. If you go in with his name, Where he works and as much info as you can get for them. They will send a letter to his work and they will do a wage garnishment and it Willl come right out of check and it wil go the state first then they send you your check . NOW if he gets paid under the table or if he quits his job when they start taking it out. HE is not going to get away with it. They will issue an order to appear in court and if he does not contact the court or get an attorney they will issues a bench warrant and pick him up and he will go to jail.Because they just add on interest and it will follow him for the rest of his life and if you have a claim out there when every he files his tax returns it wont go to him it will go to the state and then you get your check.. Just be sure you got everything together before you go to them.just keep on them.. In my state they dont take this light.

You can request a letter of explanation on your case and then request a face to face interview, is your case a interstate case what I mean for example are you in one state and is the NCP in another state those take a little longer ....

Place like support kids take 30% of the child support collected I would not suggest there..

Don't let your case get at the bottom on the pile see if your state has a email you can send your request to ...

IS the NCP working and if he has things like house and cars in his name let child support know they will fore him to use this to pay child support..

In my state if your more than 90 days behind they take your license and passport away, see if your state has a deadbeat web site and if he meet the criteria make sure he gets on it

Now this is not illegall get some stock paper and print up some postcards with quotes like don't forget to pay you childsupport or whatever you can come up with and if you know someone out of state have them mail them for you to his home his job , the girfriends house, parents and put of the bottom on the postcard do not foward I have seen this work

Unfortunately, I go through the same thing, my child's father has a court order to pay, but he doesn't. He owes my THOUSANDS of dollars, but b/c the courts system is so messed up they don't do anything. It's unfortunate not only for the child, but for us too b/c some father's don't realize that it costs to feed a child, they need a roof over their head and shoes & clothing. You could probably seek a lawyer but who can really afford that? Good luck

I don't know what state you are in I am in MN and got custody of my children. My ex wife owes is excess of 10,000 dollars and the courts will do little to nothing about it I have spent close to 40,000 dollars over the last ten years fighting her claims in court. NO judge has ever ordered her to get a job, or pay medical bills or anything she goes to court tells them a sob story and they suck it up! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened to me. I called my case worker every single day until she knew who was on the phone by the sound of my voice. I think she just got sick of me- and finally did her job. I haven't missed any child support payments since. good luck
