The only analogy I can think of at this moment is of a prey trapped on a spider web.

When love is blind, it is easy to fall into prey. When trapped in love, it is so hard to breakaway.

This analogy sort of answers one of my lingering questions. Ironically, because of your question here, I could think of the logical answer myself now.......

It is easy to fall in love because it is a happy feeling but to break away it hurts. When people fall out of love it isn't because they no longer like EVERYTHING about the other person. It is because a couple things that they do or did is what hurts. You sit back and think about all the good things you love about the other person. And that is what is hard to break away from the good that that person still has. Hope I shed some light on the subject.

Logically it is easier to eat a donut than a piece of liver.

Falling in love releases the same chemicals that eating a donut does....endorphins etc.

Fall out of love and leaving is a form of grieving. It hurts and you don't get any happy chemicals rushing through your body. And grief has stages: denial, anger, depression, hope and acceptance. The hardest is depression of course. Point is that you can't breakaway because you feel like it can go back to the way it was. Nothing goes backwards, it just changes. Technically committment (in a relationship) is a chemical too. It is hard to give up our chemical attachments.

That is just the logical explanation. To bad, real life isn't as easy as typing it to you. I get attached too.

Its hard to breakaway because of security and force of habits. Like the hard part is for instance if you live with eachother and then you breakup and you wake up and there not there..its like an empty feeling you get/ You feel lonely/ insecure/ and nobody wants to feel that way. and for some reason when you breakup you start thinking of when you first met and how good that felt and all the good times you had reguardless of how many bad times you had.

Because you invested so much love, energy and memories into the relationship and it is hard to sever the ties with that person. When you first fall in love anything is possible and you are not as attached yet. After time together, you are used to the person and they are a big part of your life. Cutting out that big part of your life is scary and feels bad because you are left on your own.

Love can be way over rated. And love is honestly a b**** sometimes. Don't get me wrong I've been married for 4 years and I love my husband. But love ain't all people bring it out to be. It's a pain in the a**. I've been through many problems in my marriage already with affairs and what not and for some reason we just can't end our relationship because the love we have for each other.

Falling in love is fun but to break up hurts. If two people are already out of love or one party wants out, it is better to go separate ways. A short intense pain is better that a long term pain. Time will heal all wounds.

Because you've invested so much time, and effort, hopes and dreams into that one person. It's hard to let all of that go. Not only did you fall in love with that person, but you shared your hopes and dreams and expectations. They became your closest friend and confidant. To lose all that in a split second, it's hard to do.

easy to fall in love coz many people have been waiting for that to happen to them..and i guess it is hard to breakaway since many of us have a hard time letting go or accepting the truth that he/she is not for you and your not for her/him.
