Well, to clarify, sheep don't die to make your sweaters. And also, it would depend on the last time the sheep were clipped. If it was a long amount of time, it would take lesser sheep and vice versa. So there is no specific answer to your question.

depends on how wooley the sheep is an average 1 sheep makes 2 or 3 sweaters.

It doesn't take sheep -- it takes wool FROM sheep. Might be able to do it with the wool from one or two. Most likely the wool from just one will suffice.
