You write as if "space" meant something. What kind of space? LEO? (low Earth orbit), geostationary orbit? Near a planet or sun? Interstellar space?
Then there's the question of what this "someone" is wearing. Spacesuit? Street clothes?
If the person is in interstellar space, he will freeze to death pretty quickly. Even if his suit has some new kind of heater that will run for a long time, radiation will kill him fairly quickly. It may well be a race between the oxygen/air running out first or the freezing or radiation killing him.
This assumes the asteroid did not tear a hole in his suit, which would mean a pretty quick death by asphyxiation.

Well, if he was in the middle of space, he would die in a few seconds from suffocation. There would be no air to breathe. If he had a space suit and a source of oxygen, then he would live until he died of thirst. If he had water, he would live until he died of hunger. And if he had food, he would live until he ran out of water and food. But he would probably run out of air first unless he had a really massive air tank.
If he was just dropped into some random place, he probably wouldn't be near anything and he would die long before he was gravitationally attracted to anything.
And then he would not decompose. He would not change at all because there are no decomposers or bacteria in space.
Maybe in billions of years, he would get close enough to something to spiral inwards gravitationally, maybe he would get pulled into orbit, and maybe he would get flung further out by gravitational acceleration.
But pretty much, he would just kind of sit around there. And if he wasn't moving to begin with, well, he wouldn't even float to anywhere because you can't start moving without something to push off of.
Asteroids only exist in orbit around stars and then they aren't like in space TV shows or movies where they're all packed together really tight and you have to dodge them. Rather, they're separated by hundreds of miles from each other and you'd have to try really hard to hit one.
But if on the very off chance he was dropped into some stellar system and also happened to be near anything in that stellar system like an asteroid and got hit by it, it would probably tear his suit or bust his airtank or at least knock him out. Asteroids are not slow moving beasts. They go pretty quickly around their star, just like our planet goes around our star. And they can be as small as a house or as big as a moon.
If his suit busted, he would die in seconds, if his airtank went, in some hours.

Getting knocked by asteroids is one thing but he will stay there for eternity unless he somehow enters the earth.

of course he will die, maybe he will rot there somehow, we do not know, then he will float eternally in space unless nudged by a force unknown that would propel him to go in that direction, i.e. an asteroid. he can be a nidus to comet (hehe) or garbaged to be swallowed a black hole if ever he comes near one.

Ok, my answer assumes that you have the person in regular clothes and just flush him out an airlock or something.
The immense lack of pressure in space would simply suck the air out of his lungs and all the liquid would be pulled out of him as well.
Instantaneous death.

I suppose he'd die. If his suit springs a leak when it's 'knocked', the body will dessicate and become a freeze-dried mummy.

Eventually he would drift toward the strongest gravitational body and make contact.

They probably decompose or get burned up. Or get sucked into a black hole and disappear.
