due to orthopaedic injuries , i am not allowed to run- the surgeons don't want me messing up their nice work. So i have to swim. Total Immersion appeals to me intellectually but does it do what it claims?

I have tries total immersion and it really helps you to swim better.
It sounds like something really special when in fact it is not. Total immersion just teaches you fish-like swimming and it is good for those who cannot run. It gives you good excercise without damaging your bones.
It is not hard to pick up at all and the method is fairly simple. However it may take some time if you have developed bad swimming habits over a long time.
It works quite well and it is also very good for your heart.

In the few questions that I have asked, there have been a couple of times when there are more than one great answer. Generally, I try to find the most complete and in depth answer. If there are a couple of great answers, I will turn it over to the voters and pray that God will lead their hands to pick the best answer, especially if the answer is an opinion based answer.

If you like it it's your thing. Basically.... what else can you do? That's why it is so good.
