Call your primary care doctor, tell them you have had a positive pregnancy test result and see what they recommend. It will depend on who you want to do your care and birth. If your Dr does it and that's what you want then great, they may recommend and OB they work with, or you may wish to look into a midwife for care. It also depends were you wish to birth, not all Dr do all hospitals, are there birth centres in your area or are you looking to birth at home?
There is no immediate reason to head to the doctor, they mostly will not see you for prenatal care til 11 weeks.
Take your folic acid, keep hydrated and congratulations!!

that is a matter of your insurance policy . . if you policy states that you cannot see your ob/gyn without a referral from your primary care, you go there first . . . if you don't have a restriction like that, you see your ob/gyn first . . . most ob/gyn's will not see you until you are at least ten weeks pregnant unless you have had complicated pregnancies in the past . . . some primary care doctors are also referred to as general practitioner/family doctors and do cover everything such as maternity . . . if you are unsure, call your insurance company to verify your coverage and requirements . . . by the way, either doctor can order the blood work to confirm your pregnancy

It depends on the type of insurance you have. Some may require a referral from your primary care physician. Others may recognize OB/GYN and you can go straight to them. Also, make sure you go to an OB when you find that out.

That is not a dumb question. I think that you should go to an obgyn. My reason for that is because if you went to your regular doctor they would just send you to one after the test was confirmed. So rather than waste your time a two appointments. Go to the OBGYN.

GO to you doctor, he/she will set you up with the hospital where you will get pre natal care, if not your doctor can do all that also, id say go to the hospital instead that way they have all your information when you give birth, either way its all good.
