Depending upon how the medium (TV, movies, comic books) presents the situation, Clark Kent uses a variety of tricks to disguise the fact he is Superman; although not every media is able to show everything.
The full spectrum, according to the comic books is:
Clark talks in a slightly higher register while Superman has a deeper voice.
Clark slouches a bit to present himself shorter than Superman.
The difference in their personalities between meek/mild-mannered/easy going and super.
For awhile Superman was keeping his head and face slightly vibrated so no one could get a clear look or visually record his image, although this trick has not been mentioned since being first mentioned in the late 1980s.
And although this has not been mentioned since before the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline (1985), Superman discovered that he subconsciously uses super-hypnosis to keep people from realizing the truth, with the glasses as the focal point for that trick.

That question has plagued many a comic reader for many a year.

In the 90's John Byrne (I believe) postulated that the reason people do not recognize him is that Superman's molecules vibrate at a frequency that literally makes him look different when he is Clark Kent. I know it sounds a little weird, but hey it is a comic and we are talking about an alien that has an aversion to irradiated green stones.

Sadly this is where an idea of the 1930's doesn't translate to modern day audiences. They should definitely update his disguise because it's just ridiculous now.

Oh yeah don't forget that Superman also has that little curl, so that helps throw people off his trail as well.

You should know by now that up there on the big screen, glasses are magic! Remember all those films with the homely girl or the geeky boy who only had to remove their specs to be super cool?

It`s a unique variation of "bad boy" syndrome which seems to affect some women. Typical "bad boy" syndrome means taking your boyfriend`s regular beatings/stealing your money/sleeping with your friends as a sign of love for you. Lois just has "good boy" syndrome which blinds her in a similar fashion.

Thats what makes it funny and cool. Its a very innocent form of humour. TV and films never have this anymore. Its like how come no-one is every hurt or killed in the A-Team after loads of shots and explosions.

I think its awesome. Brins out the inner child in us.

It's a fair question......and I always thought she was a bit shallow for liking him and not Clarke. Maybe she was attracted to his lunch box showing through his tight red lycra bikini bottoms? (She probably never got as far as looking in his face!)

if you remember the first film you'll agree that Lois Lane is not the brightest star in the firmament. Her most erudite dialogue is "aaaaarrrrggghhhh!"
