The best credit card for a college student is one with a very low credit limit. That way, you can avoid the mountain of credit card debt that so many people have today. If you get one, use it only for emergency purchases.
A good APR these days is anything under 10%. A college student's probability of getting a card with such an APR though, is not high.

Check with your current bank. Many offer credit cards specifically for college students. They usually have really low credit limits (like $500), and high interest rates though. However, it's a good way to start building credit, as long as you pay on time all the time, and not just the minimum.
Good Luck!

Any card with no annual fee will be okay, but there are a number of cards with bonus plans which would be worth taking a look at. And the APR is -- or should be -- irrelevant, because you pay off the card balance each month. (At least, you do if you know what's good for you.)

Use a "debit card" with "POP", overdraft protection, that way you won't find yourself in debt. As far as APR if you are paying over 15% you should look into alternative financing. Good luck.

don't start! I'm going into my fourth year of college and I already have three credit cards and in debt almost $3000 dollars. you always think that you can handle it, but unless you have rich parents who can pay the bill when you can't, you wont be able to.

wow, you will have to shop around. Both Visa or Mastercard stands out, but you will have to look for a bank or C.U. that offers a low rate.
