It is a way of saying "SLAM" or, even better, "HELL YEAH". It became popular after ESPN host Stuart Scott used it a lot to describe monster slam dunks in basketball news reports. So, imagine the in-your-faceness of a hammering slam dunk, and that will give you a good idea of booyah. It is an exclamation, a way of saying hell-yes, but sometimes it can also be used as a greeting.
The Urban dictionary has 26 definitions, but the one above is the most popular.

It is a shortened version of a Jamaican saying, "booyakasha" (sp?). I've been to Jamaica a few times over the years and I always hear people saying this as a form of hello, especailly the Rastafarians. "Da Ali G Show" made the saying a bit more popular. Scary enough, booyakasha is an African term that originally meant "death to all Whites", then it bcause a general hello greeting.

It is an exclamation of excitement, usually over a victory of some kind, emitted by man-children, sometimes known as "mooks". It should be noted that "man-child" doesn't mean that there is necessarily an age group, say between 2 and 8, that is prone to using words like that. The 8 year old who is emotionally and intellectually functioning at an 8 year old level is not prone to his kind of behavior. A persons idea of what is witty, then, is dependent on their inhereted IQ and not their particular biological age. Even smart 6 year olds think "booyah" sounds retarded; but the genetic so called "man-child" doesn't percieve it that way, whatever their biological age.

From the urban dictionary: "It means basically, "bam!", "in your face", and "hell yeah", all at the same time. A term that self congradulates the user, describes excitement, lets others know the magnificence of the celebration or rouse as well as the superiority of the user, and is used as an exclamation of those ideas."
Its just, BOOYA!

It means nothing, like all of the pseudo-words polluting the language. It is just an unintelligible urban patois.
