actually quite simple
when u finish making the presentation, go to file > save as
below the name of the file on the pane that opens will be "save as type"
select powerpoint slideshow (.pps) and save it. thats it!!

Tip- now the presentation shall run themoment u click on it. but what if u need 2 modify it?
then simply open microsoft powerpoint first and then open the file. it shall open just like a ppt file

You can rename a *.ppt to a *.pps (or save a *.ppt as a *.pps) and this will open the show automagically on opening the file. If you need more help in doing this, feel free to clarify
....

To run for ever, you may need to go into Window -> setup show and play with the "show options" bank of buttons (at least in powerpoint 2003, I don't have easy access to other versions here)

Down in the left hand corner of your screen you will find tiny icons that will let you do that.
