Mineral spirits will remove oil, grease, tar, etc. without hurting the paint. It will also remove all of the wax. Dawn dish soap is also good for washing cars, use a couple of tablespoons in 3 gallons of water.

Dawn detergent will be fine. It will not harm the paint or clearcoat.

The reason you don't want to use it on a regular basis is it strips wax. Wash, then rinse very well and wax your car. It will be fine. I have washed many cars that have been sitting up this way, and have used Tide and bleach on cars that have mildew builup, and have even used Comet with decent results!

I think that gasoline on a rag will take the oil off and should not hurt the paint. Try it first in a place that is not readily visible.
Remember to wash off the gas right away.
