I feed her cereal and fruit in the morning. Then some mashed rice with vegetables in the afternoon. In the evening, I give her cereal with vegetable soup. Before sleeping at night, she has 5 ozs of milk. After waking, she again has 5 ozs and then in the evening, she has 5 ozs again. Should I be giving her milk after every solid feed? Im so confused.
Otherwise, she is happy and healthy. Rolling all over the place. Also, baaing and cooing sweetly :-)

As long as your baby is getting enough nutrition, your baby will be fine...beleive me, your baby will let you know!!!!!!! My baby is almost 8 months old and I gave her breast milk untio she was 7 months, I also started solids @ 6 months. She eats whole oat bran and rolled wheat (like oatmeal) for breakfast, kashi mighty bites, crackers, any fruit that I buy at the market...loves mango, for her snacks, and a mixture of meat, veggies, and a starch for lunch and dinner...I give her a bottle when she wakes up in the am of formula now, but lately, she hasn't been drinking much of it...I have kept track of her bms, to make sure that her body is digesting everything...wanted to make sure she wasn't just eating the food and getting no nourishment out of it. She weighs almost 20 lbs now, and she's dense not fat...which would concern me a little if she were...hope that is a little help for you...wish you and your little one the best :)

Well the solids seem to be going well..But the baby also needs her breastmilk or formula either between those feedings or during those feedings. My son was a big eater and he was already taking solids and almost 8 ounces of milk every hour to 2 hours by that age. But some babies are different. Definately discuss this with your doctor because your baby needs the formula quite often during the day so she gets the proper nutrients she needs to develop.

My son is 7 mnths old as well. I feed him just as you do, except I always finish his meals off with a little milk, maybe 4 oz., depending on how much he ate. My son doesn't eat through-out the night though. I think that as long as your baby is healthy, you should just keep feeding her like you are. I think that pediatricians should help first-time parents with this sort of thing!! How are we supposed to know if our child is eating like he should or too much? My son is a normal weight, is crawling and pulling up and everything else. He is a normal happy baby. I have often had to go to my realitives who have raised kids in order to find out what I should do, and if I'm doing everything right. It's scary to be raising a child without much help!

if you where doing something wrong your baby would not be happy and not look healthy, you are just a worried mum and thats normal just chill out your doing a great job, if you really want to make her milk more nourishing put a "plasmon" buscuit in her milk it will dislove in there and befor you know it you will have a little chubby baby on your hands. or you can mash them up and mix some milk with them until they become pasty babies like that too, my daughter used to only have milk and biscuits for a year she was the healthiest chubbiest baby id ever seen. hope ive helped :)

I use to be very worried about my son's eating habits and everyone told me this "IF HE IS HUNGRY HE WILL LET YOU KNOW!!" and sure enough when my little guy is hungry I know. At this age their bellies are eating patterns are changing. Keep an eye on her weight and if you are still not feeling right about it then call her pediatrician. That is what they are there for and if they are a good doctor they will make you feel better about it or resolve the problem should there be one. Good Luck!

Some children eat more than you want them to eat. Try 2 jar foods (1 fruit and i veggie)for lunch, after giving her a milk bottle. Alson she may be ready to try some table food that can fill her up more. Try giving her what you eat, if she doesn't have any allergies. But be mindful of her chocking, so watch her carefully. Good Luck

That sounds about perfect.

As long as they are gettin between 600-700ml of breast/formula then its great.

My son is 8 months and has a bottle at 7am, cereal and fruit and 9am and formula at 10am. At 1pm he has lunch then supper at 5.30pm then formula befre bed.

If you were doing anything wrong your baby would let you know!

If u have any doubts tho, speak to your doc etc...

Oh and give her water too - get her used to drinking from a beaker with water in it.

you don't have to give her a bottle after every feed, it sounds like your doing a great job. every child is different, some kids take to solids better then others and if she is eating enough she will be a happy and content baby

Breastmilk or forumula should still make up the majority of her diet. Solids are more for fun or practice at this age.

Believe me, if she isn't getting enough to eat she will let you know. Babies do not let themselves go hungry. If she does get hungry you will be the first to know, so don't worry as long as she is happy.
