I have a 4door 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE, w/power windows & locks. The front driverside window works intermittently, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I have replaced the motor inside the door panel and also the window (buttons) switch. What else could it be?

Thanks in advance for all the suggestions!

The whole car; it does have a Pontiac badge on it right? :-)
... Just kidding!

This is clearly a grounding issue. One of the wires leading to your switch or to the motor has either a bare spot that is touching metal in the car, or there is a wire loose. Either way, there is no 'quick fix'; you have to follow all the wires from and to the switch and motor through their path in the car and see where the problem is whether it's loose or has rubbed the coating off the wire. good luck.

Window Regulator If It Was Not Included With Motor,There May Be Small Plastic (Bearings) Or The Track Could Be Warped,It Will Be Best to Find Good Door Mechanic,(Probably Body Man The Best Choice But Any Self Respecting Mechanic Should Be Able To Handle The Job,Its Simple But Aggravating

Check to see if it has an in line fuse, It might look like a fat spot in a wire. If you cut that out and splice the wire back together it might solve the problem

I'd think it's the door wiring - you use the driver's door most often, so the wires that connect the door to the rest of electrical system could crack.
