Good question. Not that I would just give it up but it is crazy for it to be illegal. It is a money making profit for arresting people.

It's to protect women/men from sexual slavery, obviously. Especially minors. If it were legal, there would be people selling their own children into the sex business to make money off of them- it happens now anyway- just imagine how it would be if people didn't go to jail for it.

It's the church's influence. Prostitution has always been high on the list of no-no's. But, as George Carlin said, "F*cking is legal; Selling is legal. Why isn't selling f*cking legal?"
