I'm a mother with a son who has it. ADHD is broken down into three categories: Hyper, attention span and behavior. My son HAD the behavior problem. His father was diagnosed with it to. It was very hard raising two, yes two children, because my ex-husband had temper tantrums along with my son. I was always told I was the one with the problem because I didn't behave like them. No support from my parents either. My father kept saying It was what I was feeding them. If my husband did not get his way, he would start a fight until I caved in and apologized. If a meal wasn't to his liking. he would start a fight and throw the dinner at me. After I had to clean up and order his favorite fast food while apologizing. The majority of the population diagnosed with this disorder are usually males at around the age of 5-6 years old. 50 percent outgrow it. My ex didn't but my son has. The biggest problem I had with all this is I lost myself to it . Everyone kept telling me it was my fault. Because my ex still thinks he has the right to take his anger out on me, Ive distance my self from my son, who is an adult now, to end any contact with the ex.

My sister's grandson has ADHD and I am just about positive my grandson has it with out the hyper activity. My daughter was diagnosed when she was 5 (she is 26 now) and the dr put her on ritalin but I took her off it because she was a zombie. This is such a mentally draining disorder. Do you need to speak with someone about this? Maybe support?
