Hey at that age Great
When I watched the kids growing up
I thought wheres the blo-dy horse
They look as if they are riding one
and its vanished
Geeze bananas aren`t that bent
How do legs get like that
Well Dalton ( grandson )is now 14 Mths 15 days old His LEGS looks just like his Mothers did
.. bandy little person she was..
So yes the foot will be ok
Its just a natural WORRY we all have for our children,
So lets look at me now
An old b`stard Well I have legs like his again
It looks like I am riding a horse again
So don`t worry too much Go and look at your grandads legs the see the resemblence
We start as we finish
I think MOTHERS have the best and the hardest JOB in the world
Just do the best you can

My son done the same thing, He even started walking at 9 months too...His left foot turned in toward his other one...Is that what your baby's is doing? Anyway like you I was concerned and the doctor did keep an eye on it and said that sometimes they will straighten out and sometimes they need help. His eventually did straighten out but the pediatrician's nurse suggested for me to buy a pair of those walking shoes. You Know those white ones with the high backs for extra support on his ankles.I just bought the ones at Wal-Mart for about $12.00. I don't know if they helped or if it straightened out on it's own, but I would talk to my Dr about it, so they can keep an eye on him. Try those shoes though...And I hope this helps.

My daughter is 11.5 months old and is just taking her first steps too. Both of her feet are slightly inwards, sort of pigeon-toed. Her Ped. said if it's not corrected by the time she's 2 she will need physical therapy or even corrective shoes. I've been manually straightening her feet by turning her feet outwards and holding for 5 seconds, I do this every day 3x a day for about 10 minutes. Good luck.

My daughter had, from your brief description, what sounds like a similar problem.
I agree that it will probably straighten itself out. My daughter was born with a seriously bent foot, however after massage and care she was as right as rain.
However it is best to check with your Dr as soon as you can. I'm sure it will be OK, but it would also help you to stop worrying.
Hope it works out for you.

My sister had that same problem when she was about that age. My mom took her to the doctor and the reason her's were that way is because her ankles weren't strong enough to support her yet. The doctor told my mom to let her only wear high top tennis shoes and over time she will straighten out. Now she is 14 and is one heck of a soccer player. :)

My son has the same thing. It's medical term is metatarsus adductus. The orthopedic doctor I took him to said that most kids outgrow it by the time they are 3. I would definitely have him seen by an orthopedic doctor. Sometimes if it is severe, they will want to intervene at a younger age. Better to be safe than sorry!

Do check with pediatrician. But generally, the answer is yes, this will straighten out, babys bone "deformities" are from time in the womb, remember his head after birth? Babies also have very supple bones, natures way of protecting infant when they are learning to walk and otherwise explore their new environment.

yes! my little boy also walked at 9mos, and he's now 19mos. one of his feet turns in when he walks, and sometimes he walks only on the outside of that foot. my pediatrician said it's nothing to worry about until he's 2 years old, and then they'll investigate further. still, if it looks to you like a bone development problem or deformity, it can't hurt to show your pediatrician - better safe than sorry!
