Depending on what grade you're in...
makeup is meant to improve your natural beauty. It can also boost your confidence level, if done right. I hear what you're saying. First, let the natural beauty in you come out. Laugh. Learn. Love. Then think about what kind of makeup you want to wear. Probably something light. Try out several brands for foundations and to find the right shade and kind for your skin type. If you truely need help, you can go to a makeup counter at a store or contact a mary kay or avon rep and they will do make over your face for free. Be careful with them though, they always end up costing way more than you think and are probably prepared to spend. The best way might be to get samples of some of the foundations sold at target, walmart, drug stores, etc. They come with 3-4 different shades and you get to wear it for a day or more to see if it works for your skin. Covergirl, namely does these.
Then start looking in mags to see what eyeshadows you think you like the look of. Get a palette which had several colors in it, namely neutrals or slightly shimmery shades, because you probably have a tan and can use your natural glow. Try using a gloss before a lipstick. Mascara always helps bring out eyes. Eyeliner may not be needed.
Be yourself. Be beautiful inside first then work on the outside. People will recognize that in you and want to be around you.

Good luck!

Seriously, this is what you should do...look up "Avon" in your telephone book and you're almost sure to find an Avon representative in there. If you don't know what Avon is, it's cosmetics and so much more and usually cheaper than the prices you pay at Wal-Mart. Call her up and ask her for a makeup consultation...she'll be glad to come over, pick the styles and colors that are perfect for you, and if you choose to buy some of her stuff, she'll probably give you a first-time customer discount! Good luck this year at school! Hope I helped!

Bare Minerals. I suffered with acne for years and years! Bare minerals finally gives my skin the look of a healthy glow. It's wonderful and doesn't ever look like 'too much' make up!

make a good impression by being yourself!
Make-up is something to hide behind and if you don't do it right, it may make a bad impression rather than a good one!

Try being yourself with little or no makeup. The makeup does not make the girl, you do!
