I bet science needs to study this more cause here's all I found...and the answer may surprise you...

"Having twins in general depends on several factors, and does Not really depend on the
+ Heredity: If twins run in your family, you're more likely to have a set yourself. Your partner's family history doesn't appear to affect your odds of having twins.
+Race: ++ Number of pregnancies: The more pregnancies you've had, the greater your chances of having +one of which is that of course if you take certain fertility drugs it ups your chances of having multiple births, no matter what genetic history you have"

also

"Sometimes twinning is hereditary, it's true. However, only fraternal (dizygotic twins are influenced by heredity, and then only in some cases. If your mother or maternal grandmother was or had fraternal twins, you might have inherited a gene for hyperovulation, increasing your chances of conceiving twins also." (In other words if "You, your mother, or her mother's mother is a fraternal twin." You may be more likely to have twins but male twins, obviously cannot carry this hyperovulation so..."
