There are no dolphinaria in the UK. Keeping dolphins in captivity has been banned since 1997. The only place you might get to swim with dolphins is in the sea around Cornwall and Wales. Dolphins are often to be seen in Cardigan Bay and I believe that Newquay and Aberaeron are good places to go. One needs to be a good swimmer, though, and it would be best to be able to wear a wet suit and snorkel.

Remember that dolphins are wild animals, though very curious about humans, and like all wild animals they can be unpredictable.

I know that it's not the UK but we went to Dingle in Western Ireland, they have a Dolphin called Fungi who hangs around the Harbour.

We saw him in a boat but you could always "fall in". Water's bloody freezing though. I suppose that if you want to swim in the UK you are expecting to have to wear a 10MM thick wetsuit.

The Moray Firth near Nairn although you can't rely on dolphins to stop in the one spot. Personally I have paddled with porpoises in the Falkland Islands
