i would put it in quotes, but whatever you prefer, just ensure you keep using one or the other all the way through.

Fairy Tale Writing Paper

I'm an English major, and I'm wondering if it would make a difference whether you're fairy tale was a book on its own--a picture book, for example, or if it is part of a large anthology. Book chapters, articles, and short stories are treated differently and use quotes...whereas books require italics.

Will your paper have a bibliography? And are you using foot notes, parenthetical notes, or end notes. These might be an indication on how to answer your question.

You can either and it really wouldn't matter. If using a fairy tale title I personally would use the italics. It catches the attention for a fast reader and looks different almost foreign in your writing. Hope this helps.

Italics or underlined to distinguish it as a title. Be consistent throughout your paper.

You don't give details as to: age, schooling, grade, or purpose. Without this simple formula, I cannot advise you.

Your idea of ...quotes and Italics...sounds good and creative....
