Of course adults can learn new things every day, It may be as simple as someones name.
After we leave school we get out of the habit of learning, I went back to University at the age of 47 At first it was really difficult, but after a little practice it got a lot easier. Also as we get older I think we appreciate more the new things we learn.

Who really knows if we learn something new everyday, it maybe a case of something we had already known but it was never saved in our long term memory banks. It would be nice to believe as we are getting older we still have the ability of learning something new everyday. Because it is the small things that count it everyone's life that keep them going from day to day.

I would like to think so.....but you have to be open to the idea of learning something new each day...and let me tell you, most people aren't...they go from day to day on autopilot with only the bare minimum of thought....I love to read and the older I get the more I want to learn about new things....I can't hardly imagine just "getting by" each day and not giving you mind some exercise...so sad!!

Yes I would say so - whether it is through a new experience or through thinking about a old or recurring (daily?) experience and coming up with a new perception or plan of tackling it. For example, whether it be learning from taking a class on computers (new experience) or learning that another bus on your daily commute will cut time off your travel or after another unpleasant interreaction with a crabby neighbor, deciding to view it as "maybe they are unhappy and just need patience, calm, and fairness from me" instead of your typical grumpy response - we all learn and continue to learn.

Most of out learning is accomplished as children. As adults, it's a bit harder to learn something new and be able to remember it in detail versus teaching a child/adolescent.

Those of us that don't - should. We can't close our brains to new things when we are adults. They even tell retired people to take classes or do something of value, so they don't stop seeing and learning new things - for health.

I think we learn something new every day if you are active.

But if you are counting anything that could be new then Definately yes!
Just watch the news and you have learned something new.
