It depends on what you mean by common sense. Somethings that seem almost self-evident to you, may have to do with your upbringing, and therefore may not be obvious to other people. In an increasingly diverse world there are fewer and fewer sensibilities that can be said to be universal.

I recall how a friend of mine constantly harps on about the dearth of common sense among college graduates, and how he, being a person who entered into the "real world" right out of high school, is a better individual because he is endowed with practical knowledge derived from a working class experience. Whatever ample common sense he may possess in somethings pertaining to day to day affairs, he lacks in other areas, which more academic people would consider common sense.

So common sense is all about perspective.

That has not been my experience, at least in the US. I look at the invasion and continued occupation of Iraq and a second term for Bushas solid examples of that. The prevelence of tattoos and piercings is another great example... Can you say a solid carreer of "Would you like fries with that?"?

I would say common represents majority. Thus majority sense is ignored but does exist. minority's are loophole finders to sustain their anti American lifestyles.
