Have you ever seen those people in Wal-Mart or Target who are just sort of standing there blocking half the isle while their cart blocks the other half as if they've totally had a mental melt-down from all the possible choices?!
What about all of the people on Yahoo Answers who want the planet to help them decide whom to date, what to wear, what career to pursue, etc. Don't get me wrong, this is an amusing diversion, but I don't now, nor did I ever need someone to make decisions for me, or to even get me started for that matter.
The average person obviously has a difficult time making a decision... I notice it especially among those who had parents who took care of every single detail of their lives growing up. A teacher told me that she's seen kindergartners who can't decide what toy to play with on their own because they've been micro-managed by mommy.

I would believe that the people that have been having this trouble were the people who's parent's always made the decision for them. Now as an adult they are unsure of themselves in doing so.
So I say it's not the "average" Person it is the person who grew up under over protective parents.

Heh, taking or making a decision? Doesn't matter, I have some trouble with both - taking a decision that someone above me makes, and making a new decision of my own. :D
