Maybe because these guys you're speaking of are actually desperate?
Most guys, I daresay, have just been bred and cultured to view women certain ways and to treat them after a certain fashion. Despicable, some of it, but don't take them too seriously. Just find a nice guy who isn't lecherous and hang out with him instead- don't get the wrong impression about man-kind!

I've known a few guys that came on WAY too strong...sometimes they confuse self-confidence (always a turn-on, its programmed in us) and desperation (reminds us of an infant, when we're really looking for a man)...
But to be fair, I've known plenty of women that have done the same thing...best bet is to take a breath and play it cool :)

It's called trying to be macho. They don't want their friends to see them as weak. It is about the score. I think that is pretty sad. I am a guy and I have never acted that way. If I score (as in getting a date) fine, if not move on, there are more fish in the sea. I am married now so I don't worry about it anymore.

You hit it on the head ! Men are desperate and want alot of attention. It's all about the hormones and wanting to be babied and catered to. At least that's my own personal opinion. Nobody has to agree with me on this. if you don't agree, that's cool with me .

We're not all like that,trust me.There are some women who do like the desperate,panting approach because they have the constant need to feel wanted.

some guys probably heard that confidence was sexy to alot of women.but some guys at times push the envelope too far.
