It is the ancient Jewish homeland.
They are just reconquering territory that was forcibly taken from them by the Muslims.
Just look at Jerusalem:
Why is a mosque sitting on top of a destroyed Jewish temple?

BTW: The Palestine talked about is a fairly recent name and creation(1922). It was actually a British colony(first link)

The Jewish people have been fighting to keep their homeland since the year 66.
The name "Palaestina" was artificially created to replace the name "Judea"(home of the Jews) by the conquering Romans(Hadrian).

If you look at every hot-spot, powder-keg or flash-point in the world you will see the hands of the British at some point in history and it is the same here. The British handed over Palestine to the post-war Jews to form the State of Israel after World War II. What happened to the Jews under Hitler was truly awful and must never be forgotten but what they are doing to the Palestinians is also very bad. Have they learnt nothing in their long and troubled history? For the sake of everybody give them their own State. I am not ignorant people..I realise that Hezbollah and Hamas don't recognise the State of Israel but if they have their own State do you not think it would help matters enormously? That is a 'no-brainer' as the Americans like to say!

Read the bible. God gave Israel to the Jews as the promised land. The jews were conquered and assimilated into countries around the world. Yet after the atrocities of World War ll the allies decided to return them to their homeland. That is why there has been so much strife between the two. It is also the birth place of Islam. Israel offered 90% of the West Bank to the Palestinians as an olive branch. In return Hezbollah fired rockets from Lebanon and staged attacks from strongholds in land that Israel gave to them as a part of the olive branch of peace. I'm sick of Iran and Syria using the poor Palestinian people as pawns to incite the Muslim world to eradicate Israel. Instead of giving the Palestinians money, aide, and land so that they can have a legitimate right to life they exploit them by using them as pawns to illicit the death of Israel. That's terrorism in my book. They must realize that they are either with us or against us in the fight on terror. If they don't change their ways they can put their head between their knees and kiss their a** good-bye. The Lebanese government cannot speak out against Hezbollah because their families live literally with guns at their heads. It is time to address the Iranians and Syrians with a multi national force and the UN must do something or they are worthless as an institution. United We Stand and Divided we fall Reigns as good today as it did 200 years ago.

On 29 November 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine (United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181), a plan to resolve the Arab-Jewish conflict by partitioning the territory into separate Jewish and Arab states, with the Greater Jerusalem area (encompassing Bethlehem) coming under international control. Jewish leaders (including the Jewish Agency), accepted the plan, while Palestinian Arab leaders rejected it. Neighboring Arab and Muslim states also rejected the partition plan. As armed skirmishes between Arab and Jewish paramilitary forces in Palestine continued, the British mandate ended on May 15, 1948, the establishment of the State of Israel having been proclaimed the day before . The neighboring Arab states immediately attacked Israel following its declaration of independence, and the 1948 Arab-Israeli War ensued. Consequently, the partition plan was never implemented

The land israelis live on now is originally palestine but israel claimed it as its own along time ago according to a treaty signed by the strongest countries in that time like britain which was the jews major support. They did that because jewish people didn't have a land to call their own but were spread all over the world, so they considered palestine their home since it was a very important landmark for the jewish religion, and christian and muslim religions also. so the land of the jew does relong belong to the palestenians.

Israel was created from the British Mandate of Palestine in 1948. As Palestine (which encompases modern Israel, as well as the Palestinian controlled West bank and Gaza) was a British colony (after it was taken as reparations for world war one from the Ottoman Empire) the Palestinians didn't get a say as to what was going to happen to their country, so they saw the Israelis as an occupying power, a view which continues today.

Israelites and Palestinians have been fighting back and forth over roughly the same land for literally thousands of years. Both cultures have occupied the same area at some point in history. Present day wars are no longer fought over for land, its power and money. Israel took back their ancient homeland back in the late 40's earlie 50's, its there's now.

if you want to argue weak claims like the Palestinians, then you could also argue that the Pope in Rome has a legitimate claim to the land.....after all it was part of the Roman Empire at one point in history...........nuff said

The rightful owners are the Israelites - all Jewish people owns the land in the State of Israel. Palestinians must learn to co-exist if not life won't get better. Syria, Iran, Lebanon, or any other mid east state has no business butting their noses in Israel's affairs.

Palestine. Read the history it is so obvious Israel is occupying.

I just want to add that Israel did not take over that land without help. Those tanks and planes they are usiong are American made. That makes us occupiers as well. This is why we have terrorism.

This is an absurd question. Should America simply leave because our land was once Indian?

Simple rule, like it or not, it is fact.
Ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force.

Israel possesses their land, and no one around them has the power to take it away. Therefore the answer to your question is that the land is Israel's.
