It's not REAL high on my list of things to do for excitement.
But I usually am pretty happy when my items are pretty and shiny!

Using a really good polish helps though.
Right now I'm pretty fond of "Cape Cod Metal Polish Cloths"

I do think that silver looks much better when polished. Brass however, Maybe if I owned a boat.

Not a high priority for me, but when i need to do it here's what I do :
for brass and copperish items, I brush the item with half a lemon till it is all clear, you can use it as often as you want.. Or you can have an old tooth brush , dipp it in lemon juice and use it on the item till it shines.

As for silver, there are many things for it for jewlery cleaning kits, but if you're talking about silverware and bigger items, you can use Baking Soda. an again using an old toothbrush, wet it, dip it in the baking soda and then clean the item. Or with a little piece of cloth, wrap around your finger after you wet it, and dip it in the soda, then clean the item. Good luck. I hope that was you were asking for.

Yea I do it all the time. Are you asking b/c you enjoy it also. Hey maybe there's a whole network of people out there like us. We could start our own club, you know share our experience, strength and hope over the trials and mishaps of being a lover of the polishing cloth.

you will get silver wipes in some jewellers James is optimal brown sauce is super on brass (additionally copper), yet make useful its all wiped off afterwards because of the fact it could desire to pit the metallic if left on for too long.
