I really want to go and watch Superman with my friend but my mum doesnt allow me to go out -
Maybe i can blag something about college but i think i'd need a letter...what can i say to her to let me go out? she doesnt have to know im going to watch a movie! ;)

Its not my friends, they are all sound and my mum really likes them and she knows that i would never do anything bad, she's just unreasonably strict and i have never given her any reason to be like that - she's just always like that and she hardly ever lets me chill with my mates - im 17 and she doesnt even let me go to the movies with my friends...

Firstly never lie to your parents it will only reinforce their fears, honesty is always the best approach in life. Can you tell us how old you are? Is it because your mum is really strict or like the other guy said, maybe it's your friend she doesn't like? Try talking to her and telling her how you feel, I know it's not the best solution but maybe she could drop you off and pick you up.

lying is a bad idea it will break the trust barreir.make a deal with her not a bribe but a deal, like wash her car do the dishes clean up after dinner or better still offer to make dinner.but I'm sure there is a good reason for not letting you go out.

I agree with ferdinan. Lying is a bad idea. Maybe it isn't the movie that she doesn't want you to go see, but rather the friend she doesn't want you to go see the movie. Be honest with her, or simply wait until it comes to DVD, it really isn't all that.
