India, a superpower - I think not. Yes there is a great economic boom occurring in that country, but in order for a country to be deemed to be a superpower it should have a formidable military, and for that matter utilize that military appropriately. Though India is equipped with nuclear missiles and a whole slew of weaponry from Russia, it hardly rivals the United States or England in its prowess.
Furthermore, overpopulation of that country tends to diminish whatever economic gains the country might reap from the emerging technological enterprises that are taking place there. Couple that with its own sectarian divisiveness, I don't see it becoming a superpower anytime soon.
If all it took for a country to be deemed a superpower was financial prosperity, brought about by technological innovation, then Japan should have been considered a superpower for the past three decades.

China is a superpower and has been for some years. India nonetheless has an prolonged time to circulate before they are seen a potential in any respect, they have intense family subjects to deal with, only having nukes does not make a rustic a international potential. the european isn't a international potential at it nonetheless fails to fuction like a single unit. There are too many disparate aspects. as quickly as china deregulates their economy and opens the yuan up for traders the euro and the dollar will plummet. The failure of the euro will deliver approximately the commencing up of the top of the european.

Probably. If China can do it, then there's no reason why India can't.
And given that they've been a strong democracy since Independence I think they are more deserving than the China. Kashmir is still a problem, but shouldn't stop them.
We should be looking to include them in an expanded G8, and talking seriously about them eventually getting a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

Part of being a Super Power is the act of aggressively declaring war on another nation which India has never done through out it's history, only in self defense, not to conquer. So, I ask why try to emulate something they have never been in there history of being a Nation?
