Indianadude I have a sneaking suspicion I might be more educated than you judging by your response.

I'm not Jewish by the way, although one of my great-great grandmothers was.

I was just sympathetic to the problem that NZ Jews have as voiced by the words of one of their elders on the front page of the paper this morning.

not every jew is a diehard zionist, but you can also love israel without supporting everything that they do. . also, just as you can oppose a government for its actions, keep in mind that the current situation is complicated. it's not a black-and-white issue, though the lady from new zealand might see it as such.

(you asked the same thing in another category, and i answered it there too)

Jews who don't endorse what Israel is doing should write to the Israeli prime minister and say so. If enough Jewish people did so I think it would eventually have an effect. The problem with having been in conflict for so long, especially in that part of the world is that people are hyper all the time, and both sides feel that they are the victims. Given their volatility, it's hard to see the truth ever being admitted by either side. (Who are both in the wrong.) They're like children saying "he hit me first", except that they're not children and so can do a lot of harm to each other, and distress the whole world. Perhaps that is the game they're playing. Getting a lot of attention for being "naughty"!! Like the Muslim terrorists!

discuss, persude, unite, and fight for peace;)

A little History for you:-

Part of Palestine was given to the Jewish people after WW2, that was a big mistake because the Israelis then proceeded to throw out the Palestinians, the Palestinians have never accepted this, they have been terrorized by Israel, and now they fight with the only tools they have, throwing stones, and blowing themselves up, and setting off the occasional rocket.

The USA Supports the many atrocities commited by Israel:-

and the American people are blissfully unaware that $90 Billion of their taxes has been given to Israel to aid it's "War":-

Israel has a lot of influence worldwide so only one side of the story is usually reported.

Recently Israel has siege Gaza, denying Palestinians electricity, destroying infrastructure, and making it a virtual prison,
As usual the Palestinians have fought against this oppression, and a group of them managed to capture an Israeli soldier.
The Israelis then proceeded to escalate their siege, and killing of Palestinians who had nothing to do with the Capture of the Israeli soldier, world leaders said nothing.
Only Hezbollah would stand up for the Palestinians, and they captured two Israeli soldiers. Then Israel decided to punish the whole of Lebanon, so now Hezbollah try to kill Israelis, and Israelis try to kill Lebanese.

The USA responce had been to blame Iran, and Syria, and it makes me wonder if this was their recent agenda all along - to create an excuse to attack another country.

Pray a LOT.
It helps to understand the history of the region after the Ottoman Empire had been broken up.
I have a lot of trouble with all of this - I am not a zionist and am Jewish.

truth is, that considering 1967 Israel in basic terms gave land - It again Sinai to Egypt in 1982, It gave the PA administration over parts in Gaza and in the west economic business organisation in 1995, It thoroughly withdrew from Gaza in 2005. What "expansionist guidelines" are you speaking about?
