ok, keep on with this: a million) 4 3/8 = 35/8 and 2 a million/5 = 11/5 For 4 3/8, u multiply the 4 and the 8, then upload 3. for 2 a million/5, multiply 5 and 2, then upload a million. 2) 35/8 x 11/5 = 385/40 there are 2 approaches u can do this step. it is one way: a million. multiply straight away in the time of. 35 x 11 = 385 8 x 5 = 40 3) 385/40 = seventy seven/8 = 9 5/8 simplify. locate a quantity that could want to cut back 385 and 40. (5) u receives seventy seven/8. considering the fact that u cant cut back anymore, divide 8 to seventy seven. UR answer: 9 5/8 i became hoping i helped! sturdy success :)

Convert the mixed numbers to fractions

4 and 3/8 is equal to 8/8 + 8/8 + 8/8 + 8/8 + 3/8 (1+1+1+1+3/8)
or 32/8 + 3/8
or 35/8

2 and 1/5 is equal to 5/5 + 5/5 + 1/5 (1+1+1/5)
or 10/5 + 1/5
or 11/5

Then multiply

35/8 * 11/5
or 35*11 over 8*5
or 385/40

Then simplify
385 divided by 40 is 9 with a remainder of 25

So it comes out to 9 25/40

Then you just have to simplify the 25/40. The lowest common denominator of 25 and 40 is 5. So, you divide both by 5 and get
5/8

So your final answer is 9 5/8

To multiply fractions, you simply need to convert your mixed numbers to improper fractions.

To do so, multiply the denominator by the whole number and add the numerator, and put that number over the original denominator.

For 4 3/8, you should get 35/8, and for 2 1/5, you should get 11/5. Now, simply multiply the two numerators and the two denominators, and you should have 385/40. Divide the numerator and denominator by common factors (in this case, 5), and you will end up with 77/8.

To get a mixed number from our final improper fraction, divide 8 in to 77 and that is your whole number. The remainder from that quotient should go over 8 and you will have your mixed number, 9 5/8.

ok i will give you the steps to make it easier.

multiply 4x8 and do it plus 3. it comes 35/8 that is how to solve the fraction 4 3/8. it can be used for all other fractions.

do the same for the 2 1/5. do 2x5+1 that is 11/5.

now you have 35/8 x 11/5

Now do 35x11= 385

and 8x5=40

Now it comes 385/40 or 9 5/8

hope you understood it

this is only for the multiplication! you can wordk addition this way, but in addition you have to have the smae denominator

first you do the "/", then the "*".
So...
3/8 = 0.375
1/5 = 0.2

4 * 3/8 = 4 * 0.375 = 1.5
2 * 1/5 = 2 * 0.2 = 0.4

Now.... 1.5 * 0.4 = 0.6

So, the answer is 0.6
