I watched the documentary of it and it was scary as heck it had actual footage that the crew had taken, and that had been found later by people looking for them and clues to what had happened.

The movie is not true. I saw the actors giving interviews about all the royalties they were getting so therefore the are not dead. The great thing about this movie was that it used the urban myth gossip mill to market there movie. "Is it real?" "Is it just a movie?" People were so caught up in it they paid good money to watch a grainy black and white movie that was shaky most of the time.

The legend itself is a composite of different urban myths. It just goes to show that the things we fear the most are the things that we imagine.

I would not venture into the woods and not remember where I came from in the first place, no cell phone no communication to the outside, anything is possible in this day anymore, it freaked me true or not, remember Silence of the Lambs in a house down in the basement with all the moths/butterflies, etc.. and the skin and sewing machine....

I think how aggravated I still am that I paid 8.00 dollars to see it. One of the worst movies ever, and dumb doesn't begin to describe it. No it was not a true account. Don't you remember all the hype, when it came out there was a special program on tv about it and how people were thinking it was a real event. Not!!!

I was living in a cabin in northern WA when this came out on DVD. It may have been the setting I was in because it made for one scary film. Now I can watch it (I live in rural OH now) and its just funny. Especially the booger camera angle they chose to use.

It is not true. I live 1 hour from where if took place. I thought it was neat how they made the movie, but I didn't like it to much.

I liked it, but of course it was fictional. It was still entertaining, though I don't think it would have nearly the same effect on people who watched it for the second time.
