First check to see if their is a tag that indicates what they are made out of and if they can be washed (obviously, bean bag type once you can only sponge off with hot soapy water or you will ruin them).
If they are filled with polyester fiberfill you can put them in a pillowcase and wash them in cold water in with the regular cycle. I usually would put in a squirt of anti-bacterial dish soap also (but not too much) to be sure that the germs from my child slobbering on the bear would be killed.
You can put most of them in the dryer but be sure to use the lowest, but no more than a lower setting on the dryer. If you go medium heat or above you risk turning the fluffy teddy into a big brillo pad.
If you do this your child will cry and you have to tell him you were giving teddy a makeover and/or bath and nap then ask them to join in making over/dressing teddy, which may mean dressing him in your child's baby clothes/sleeper to they will feel a minimum of the Brilloness on their skin.

If they are valuable and it isn't too soiled, you could scrub the soiled area with a washcloth and soap. If it is your run of the mill, everyday teddy bear or it is terribly soiled, just toss it in the washer and dryer with other items and hope for the best.

Put them in a lingerie bag or a pillow case(tie the open end) and wash in washing machine on a gentle cycle and then flat dry or line dry.

Put them in a pillowcase and close the end (string or twist-tie) before you put them in the washing machine, then into the dryer. I use liquid detergent for them - I do all kinds of stuffed animals.

Take it to a laundamat and use a front loader washer. But don't dry it . Let it dry on its on. Drying could cause the fur to fry and frizz.
