Depends on how fresh the scar is - the older it is, the harder it is to change.

I have seen patients use Curad Scar Therapy to good effect. It is a clear gel sheet that can be placed onto the scar. Needs to be used for 2-3 weeks to make a difference.

There are other products out there, like Mederma. Go to your pharmacy and look around, ask the pharmacist. I'm sure there are generic versions now.

Good luck!

it really depends on what type of scars you are talking about..if they are fine fresh scars then give them time and lots of moisturisor cream and they will improve... but if they are deep surgery or burn scars then i am afraid the only option is plastic surgery or getting tatooed over them...i have extensive scarring from a traffic accident and resulting surgery from over ten years ago that i have had tattooed over because i was sick of people talking about my scars when i went out in public so i thought if they want to talk about me then they will be talking about something i chose to have and not because of some careless driver .......

None of those work. Have your local tattoo artist tattoo something over it.
