I Ironed a pair of cotton pants on my couch (tweed material) and the iron burnt the cushion-no they dont flip over. So now there is a crispy iron mark, it looks terrible.

Ha Ha Ha. I feel your pain. I did the same thing years ago. I just left it and it became a conversation starter whenever people came over.

The cushion cover is ruined, buy new ones. While shopping get an ironing board also.

There was once a great Japanese artist who would paint or draw everything perfectly, then at the end he'd deliberately put an imperfection in his work. When asked why, he said that it was a reminder to himself that no one is perfect and he shouldn't try to think he was, nor allow other people to think he was.

Well, you can follow the advise of other people and try to mend your cushion cover, or you could just leave it there as a conversation topic.

Of course everyone wants to replace or cover your sofa, but I find that humor helps sooth the pain. Sorry to be glib, but I would burn matching scortch marks all over your sofa. Then using the edge of your iron, I would put legs on each one so they would look like bugs for a somewhat '70s retro look. Again, sorry & have a nice...Diesel.

The only thing you can do is to reupholster the couch. I dont know of anything else you can do. You can find couch covers though that are pretty cute. I saw some nice ones on overstock.com that are very stylish and inexpensive.

the best thing i can think of is go and get a new couch or go and have someone pet new material on the WHOLE cushion.

Iron the other cushion so they match. I'll bet your friends will ask you about the "design".

all i can suggest is that if it has more than one cushion do the same to the others so they look all the same it could be quite funky and you have created a style of your own other than that there is nothing but grin and bare it

Try steaming the burnt part....if that doesnt work....slip covers or have the cushions recovered.
