Hrithik Roshan January 10, 1974, nicknamed Duggu, is a Bollywood actor...Hrithik was born in Mumbai, India, to actress Pinky and actor Rakesh Roshan, who was himself the son of a well-known film-music director Roshan. Rakesh later turned to film production and direction. Hrithik's entry into acting extended the Roshan family role in Bollywood to the third generation.
The actor is married to Suzanne Khan, his high-school sweetheart. Suzanne is the daughter of actor/director Sanjay Khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. Film clans (see List of Bollywood film clans) do tend to intermarry.
Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world on March 28, 2006, at 3:08pm at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, India. The child will be named Hrehaan in a naming ceremony to be conducted sometime later.
Hrithik is generally regarded as a down-to-earth, hard-working actor, neither an egomaniac nor a playboy..
Hrithik's first movie role was as a child artist in the 1980 movie Aasha, where he was an extra dancing boy at only six years old. He then appeared in Aap Ki Deewane in the same year. However his best remembered performance as a child star was in Bhagwan Dada, with the ever versetile Sridevi and Rajnikanth. Many years later he worked behind the camera, supporting his director father in films such as Karan Arjun and Koyla. While he was working on the movie Karan Arjun, the film's lead, Salman Khan, urged Hrithik to try his hand at acting. It is said that Salman gave Hrithik lessons in body-building and acting.
Hrithik achieved fame when he debuted in Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai opposite debutante starlet Amisha Patel. The film was directed by his father. His performance earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award and the Filmfare Best Actor Award. Many of his later movies have been either successful or flops. Most notable were Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001 and Koi... Mil Gaya in 2003, the latter of which was directed by his father, Rakesh Roshan.
Like many other actors, Hrithik also tours in Bollywood stage shows. His first stage appearance was at Lux Zee Cine Awards in 2001. Hrithik's amazing dance skills and stage presence has inspired many young people to pursue dancing.
He has recently completed filming on a sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya; it is being directed by his father Rakesh Roshan and is titled Krrish and released in June 2006. Hrithik plays a superhero with superhuman strength and the ability to leap huge distances. The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra and Naseeruddin Shah.
He also currently filming for Dhoom 2, a sequel to the 2003 hit Dhoom in which he plays a villain role for the first time.

Inspiration for the Youth
Hrithik is well known for inspiring many young talents. Fusion competitions, which have become more and more popular within the last few years, often showcase many of Hrithiks movie-songs and signature dance moves. While the amount of young dancers who follow the path of Hrithik may seem to be endless, there are many who show that they deserve to truly be the Hrithik Roshans of tomorrow. In 2006, of the many DesiFusion competitions held in America, lead dancers of such teams as USP Dhamaal, Rutgers Sapa, and Baruch Andaaz, have shown that they have what it takes to continue this style of dancing while still adding a mix of their own. Notably much media attention has gone to the leader of Baruch Andaaz, Ashif Gazi, who he himself claims Hrithik to, and recent Boogie Woogie winner Hardick Solonki.
Hrithik has a vestigial thumb on his right hand."
