typically yes.
for most reliable im ( instant messaging service) i would prefer to use soft's in following sequence
text chat : yahoo www.yahoo.com
audio chat : skype www.skype.com
Video chat: Camfrog www.camfrog.com,

I would suggest switching to Skype. It has a very reliable PC-to-PC service, and it is free too. Skype also has webcam functionality. I have used Yahoo! before, but I found out that the images coming from the other end keeps lagging and hangs sometimes.
Skype also has a very cheap and reliable PC-to-Landline service.

It seems like Yahoo is having a lot of problems lately. People not being able to open thieir e mail, trouble with using Yahoo answers, trouble with Yahoo messenger, etc.
