how soon can sign of pregnancy come about? my husband and i tried to get pregnant and i took a test soon after which came up positive. after i did a little research i've realized that maybe i tested a little early. but the test was still positive.

since then i have been feeling a little odd. my breast hurt, especially my nipples and i have had to go to the bathroom much more than usual.

Could I be pregnant?
When should i test again?

Congrats, you are preggers.

Most pregnancy tests today (by most, I mean 99%) work on a simple principle. You pee onto a strip.

If you're pregnant, your urine contains a specific hormone. The chemicals in the pregnancy strip react with this hormone to produce a result.

Because each woman is different, the hormones may take longer or shorter to appear. This means the following:

A) If you take the test early and get a positive score, you're pregnant.

B) If you take the test early and get a negative score, you may still be pregnant.

It's still important that you see a doctor for a confirmation test and to get info on proper diet. Missing certain components in your diet can cause major issues with your baby.

For example, a lack of folic acid can lead to your baby having a misformed spine, being paralysed at birth. This is called spina bifida.

Good question.

HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

Good luck and congrats

If you had a positive pregnancy test, then you were pregnant. You don't need to test again. If you got a positive result, then obviously it *wasn't* too early!!

Make an appointment with your midwife or doctor.

From your symptoms you sound like yes your pregnant...but if u want to confirm it..u should go to your doctor and have them do a pregnancy test...u should go anyways if u think you really are..so u know what all u need to be doing (like prenatel vitamins and so on)i'm sure the doctor will give u some instructions.

How many minutes has it been since the last time you took the test, or the last time you had sex? Wait a day or two, and read the instructions on the test.

Those home tests are extremely accurate. Get an additional test from your doctor. Most likely you are pregnant! Congratulations!!

The home tests are very accurate. But I would go to your doctor ASAP to verify that you are really are pregnant. And if your breast continue to hurt, you are definatly pregnant.
