I am having this strange problem. I was watching tv the other day when I heard someone speak the phrase "I chickened out." Now I have this strange thing in my mind that before hearing it, the phrase was lying at the back of my head, but now its "alive" in my mind and am concsious of the phrase. So now I keep hearing the phrase in my mind a lot. My mind tells me I am going to "chicken out" on a lot of things. So now whenever I dont do something, my mind tells me "See you chickened out." How can I unlearn or erase the phrase from my mind? I want to be back to who I was and not hear the phrase repeatedly in my mind. Please help with any tips or insights. Thanks.

Is your head telling you this because you feel a little guilty about not doing something? And what was the reason you didn't do it? Was it too hard? Too easy and you blew it off?
But whatever the reason for not doing whatever, take comfort in knowing that within a few days the brain will move on to bigger and better things. It's sort of like that song that gets stuck in your head and will go away after a few days.
