It could be that, more people have less--that is, less useful information in their heads. They are shallow, proud, ignorant...Many American men can rattle off (useless) sports statistics, but they would be at a loss to offer a reasonable explanation for the Zionist-caused conflict in the Middle East.
Also, there is a definite lack of love in people's hearts. It's all about them, these days. "To hell with everyone else"...

Interesting philosphical twist to a practical observation here:
People are individuals with a well defined personality and their own values, ideas and philosophies. Therefore there are plenty of these i.e there is more.
They gather and become a mob / a party / a group - they merge into one or a limited set of values, ideas and philosophies either voted or forced by a stronger subset within such a group on the rest of the group. Therefore, there is now less.
Hence, your quote and the follow on thought is in synch. We can like people because they come across without cynicism, without hypocrisy...a group, introduces societal rules, an artificial constraint, and thereby makes the individual squirm within while confirming to such a personality shattering set of mob rules...giving you a less of the same individual when that individual is within a group rather than outside.
hmmm...that is a profound explanation....I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation :) Read some of my poems at www.saggere.com .

Could it be that the one's gathering have stopped compeating for pole position thus creating fewer waves within the reality, all becoming peaceful, content to just be and all seemingly becoming of ONE MIND, ONE DESTINATION, ONE END. ONE NEW BEGINING.

It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death doesn't just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed

as more people gather, more ideas surface. if we are all alike, the ideas will be the same. but we are not. therefore the resolve shrinks as more people express their thoughts.
