Not every word is scripted but the ideas all are. It would be pretty hard to remember all your lines EVERY night. The only thing these wrestlers are told is "Hey, go out there and say something clever and insulting about your opponent then he's going to come out and argue back about how you never pinned him, then you'll challenge him to a steel cage match. Oh, and make sure the talking goes on for about five minutes."

Well... definitely Shawn Michaels' first WWF championship at WrestleMania 12. The amazing ending to the 1994 Royal Rumble, Randy Orton's first world title at SummerSlam 2004 (he seemed so potentially great! It didn't happen for another 3 years but at the time I didn't know). What else? The Bang 3:16 segment was awesome, the debut of Mr Socko, both of which are rightfully included on the Raw DVD. Jeff Hardy's swanton on Randy Orton early 2007, I think just before the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar's shooting star press, the cement corvette, that's all I can think of for now. There's too much to write at one time. Although it can be stale at times, there's no denying that WWE has produced some damn good TV over the yeats. Oh, and Mankind/Cactus Jack being thrown off/through the HIAC by Taker?HHH. And Edge spearing him through a table at ONS 2006! I have to go now, because I'll never stop if I don't.

Yes some things are scripted but not all things. I am a wrestling fan and for you people that do not realize that wrestler really go through pain physically and mentally. Pain and the bruise are not scripted. It takes real dedication to be away from your family 200 some days out the year and to put you body through pain every night.

Yup. I thought it was real when i was a kid. Until i saw this show revealing the "techniques" used by the wrestlers to make it "look real". I think the title was "Pro wrestling greatest secrets, revealed"
Like throwing fake punches (actually, they really hit, but the punches are hollow. They don't really tighten their grip) while stomping on the ring(to make the "punch" noise), microphones under the ring (to make it sound like they really hit the ring with some great force), etc.
Maybe your thinking, they can't possibly remember ALL the moves IN ORDER.
Well, they don't. They actually communicate while in the ring. Even the referee tells them what to do.
What about the blood??
Actually, that's real. The referee gives them a very small razor in the middle of the fight. And when its time to show some blood, they just make this small cut on the top of their forehead. Even if the cut is small, it can really bleed very furiously.

So true. It's an exploitive male soap opera. i used to really enjoy it, but it's gotten so inane, that even the muscular men in very little clothing can entice me to watch anymore.
It is entirely scripted and choreographed. However, people can get really hurt and die when things go wrong.

It's all bad theatre, and yes, it's scripted. Yes, I watch, but only because I don't have to think about anything. Vince McMahon is a genius.

yes, dear. it is entertainment, NOT real life.
however, i am sure that occasionally, there are accidents and people get hurt, (or in Owen Harts' case , killed) But no one is going to be carried out on a stretcher because they can't move, and then come running back to beat up their opponent.

A LOT of practice goes into the WWE "performances". A LOT! The main concern there is : RATINGS, RATINGS, RATINGS!
