I`m from a city from Romania as well and Bucharest is a beautiful city. It used to be called little Paris a couple of decades before. The problem is now we don`t know how to care for it too much and it`s a pity. Maybe someday someone with a little more influence than us will realize that in fact there is a lot to do to make it even more beautiful.

I moved to Bucharest recently and I can say that Bucharest was a good choice for me. It's a place with many opportunities, a little bit crowded, but lovely. It has beautiful parks, many theatres, some incredible buildings from the last century, silent places near the agitated ones. And it is fabulous to hear the sea gull in the morning in the neighborhood I live, far from the waters of Dimbovita.

I have been in Bucharest a few times on business. The city would be beautifull whitout all that garbage thrown around. People throw Cola cans and paper out of their cars like the streets would be garbage bins. Also, the amount of homeless people jumping on a car with licence plates from another country makes the experience as one of the worst. I was born in Romania, so it did't surprise me that much, but I returned to visit with a few friends whom never been in Romania, they were a little scared, kids were leaning against the window asking for Euros. If these little problems would dissapear, I guess it would be one of the European attractions that tourist prefer more and more. One day, I hope...

Also, there are more than one Bucharest! In many areas, around your city are cities where poor people are residing and seem like 100 years ago, while the center shows a modern city!
Enjoy your city! I do have a good friend who lives there!

I'm from Romania too... Transilvania. I have visited Bucharest 2 years ago. It's a beautiful city, but it's very crowded and it was very hot when I visited it, so I couldn't really enjoy.
