I watched it last night and thought it was brilliant, I was dubious about the new guy filling christophers boots but though he done a great job. What does anyone else think?

I too was a bit dubious about Brandan Routh filling Chris Reeve's boots - I was hoping Tom Welling was offered the job BUT, I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Rubbish! The introduction of a predominant love interest has cast aside the action and been replaced with emotion. If i wanted to see an emotional film i would've watched The Bridges of Madison County.
Thats how they messed up MI:3 as well. It was less action, more emotion. Thats 2 films with the potential to do really well that have been spoiled.
A shame really. All the broadsheets agree. Even the metro paper does!

I REALLY didn't want to see it...when I saw previews, I just didn't GET the Brandon Routh Superman. Then I saw the movie. HOLY COW, he was absolutely PERFECT! He brought so much of the CR Superman, but added his own strengths and vulnerability. LOVED HIM!
I thought it was a brilliant tribute to CR's Superman, and set the stage for the next movies. Way to go, Singer!

i havent seen it ,yet-but i think is very nice tribute to Christopher R.
And also- it's cool that this generation are gonna have "the classic Superman-look" guy to play it,too..Its not good when they decide to change the old image that fits the exact comic character the way its meant to be-with something too modern,its losing its authenticity,dont you agree?!

i watched it last night too and i just sat there with a big smile on my face the whole time, he did a fantastic job and was so believeable in the role, can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

thought it was good though ending draged on and i didn't like super kid they made it to clear should have left it to be cleared up in the next movie, i would like to see superman fight people on his own power level now please bring on supervillans (not that there are that many superman supervillans that are well known outside of the comic book fans)

I saw it in an IMAX cinema and it was brill!!! I really liked Brandon Routh - he's pretty yummy in 3-D.
