Here in the U.S. I don't know of any shops that use numbing spray. But maybe they do in your area. I have 4 tattoo's and YES they hurt. The amount of pain will depend on your tolerance and the area you get the tattoo. I have a large one on my left shoulder that took almost 5 hours, but that one didn't hurt nearly as bad as the one around my belly button that took only 45 minutes. Since this will be your first, do your homework. Ask to see the artist's work. He should have some pics. Ask how long he/she has been doing tattoo's. Be aware that alot of people develop reactions to certain colors, especially red. Also, make sure those needles are in a clear plastic wrapper and are opened in front of you. This will be your assurance that they were sterilized and not used on someone before you. Make sure you ask about the "after care" of your tatt. You didn't say how old you are but keep in mind that something you choose at 18 may not be suitable for when you're older. These things are forever!! Pick something you'll always love and never grow tired of.

Numbing sprays are a psychological trick--they do no longer probably do something, it is extra of a placebo. The sprays that placed use are the comparable element that dentists will spray before proposing you with a shot on your mouth--nonetheless hurts, suitable? So do no longer sweat it, because of the fact there is somewhat no distinction. A topical anesthetic spray won't be able to penetrate adequate to decrease discomfort throughout a piercing. I asked the piercer as quickly as how plenty the spray helped, and that i replace into advised it made no distinction, it replace into extra to calm human beings into thinking it is going to wreck much less. and that i promise you it is totally authentic--i've got had 19 piercings and purely like 4 have been sprayed first and that they did no longer harm any much less.

There is no numbing spray used. Yes getting a tattoo does hurt, but remember, the closer to bone, the more it'll hurt.

the pain depends on where you get the tattoo. i have one on my foot and it hurt a lot. then there are spots like some areas of the back and the leg that don't really hurt at all. it depends on your pain tolerance and the amount of muscle and nerves in the area.
always do research on the facility and ask around - if you have friends that have tattoos - ask if they would go back to the same place.

The better the artist the softer the touch, less pain and better the tattoo. Do your research and find the best artist at the best place in town.

it will hurt, you will bleed, you may get infection, and in the end you may hate the tattoo and want it removed. Consider it well befor eyou actually do it.
