Why doesn't the USA pay back it's debt?

Debt to who? We owe each other, and it help's the economy. We want to grow because we are idealistic capitalists that recognize we have repaired the world and fed it from time to time and will continue to do so. A national debt is meaningless unless you owe a foreign nation or bank. As an example: I own U.S. Treasury bills.The country pays me interest. I am happy, and fail to see the problem.

why does it "WANT" to grow- we've got no CHOICE, people come here by BOATLOADS, to make $$ -period.
They could care less about being American.
Latin America has no "welfare program" The US is it's welfare program.
