First, the Earth is not ours. Think about the question: is that spot in your right arm(I suppose you have at list one) at your body center? Of course not. You will answer... "at my body center is my heart or my mind". Now, look again to the spot, the Earth is one thousand times shorter than that spot, comparing with the Universe. You have got the answer.

the universe's size is not reveales yet and i don'y think scientists will be able to do so
therefore we cannot be sure if the earth is in the center
it may be in the center but we are not confident it may be on the left or right or even at the top

In general is said, that the universe has no center.
But WE look at the sky FROM OUR POSITION, FROM EARTH, so WE feel THE EARTH as center of the cosmos.

mankind tends to think highly of himself, so he'll think everything revolves around him. just like centuries ago when mankind used to thought the sun, moon, and stars revolved around earth. chances are, i doubt it.
