I have a TV Tuner that came with my HP ZD8000 that I don't know much about. I'm trying to hook up my camcorder to my tv tuner then record the video from my camcorder onto my laptop then burn it to a DVD. I know there must be a way but I can't figure it out. The camcorder is a Sharp Hi-8 type camcorder. Can anyone offer any help pretty please ?

All camcorder regardless of make or model would have a supplied AV cord to connect to a AV Audio & Video input.

Connect up this cable to your camcorder and plug in the video plug which is coloured coded white to the video white input on the back of your TV tuner card. The audio are the red and yellow plug. Simply match the colour code.

To capture you should also have a supplied software for the TV Tuner. Alternatively any other capture specific software like PowerProducer or Windows Movie Maker can be used.

you are able to yet you mustn't. you would possibly want to deliver the digital video from the digital camcorder to the computer by USB or iLink. in case you despatched the analog video from the camcorder to the video inputs on you television tuner you'll lose high quality.
