Yes, we have a spirit that lives forever.
But our body and soul only lives once, and afterwards will be judged by God. Our spirit will either go to hell or heaven.
Things that we're good at, they are called talents, or gifts ...
God gives us talents so we can glorify His name with them.
We don't get it from past life because there was no past life.

Yes, the soul is immortal; death is nothing more than a step, from life, to more life. This is not just wishful thinking:
Science knows, nowadays, that all is energy in the universe. We also know that energy is not lost, only transformed. The soul is the part of our energy that leaves the material body, to go on to another one, or, who knows, to even continue its life in non-material realities.
Meditation and Out of Body Experiences are excellent ways to get a personal understanding of the fact that human energy is more than just the human body. The energy frequencies that acupuncture works with to cure people (as it is already admitted by Western medicine), have not yet been traced by Western scientists, and they are a clue to the non-material, energy dimensions of the human existence.
Think of this simple analogy: just like a wireless modem can send messages, documents, anywhere on the planet, via satellite, our soul is the part of our energy that does not need a physical body to continue existing: when we die, and also, when we travel out of our bodies/meditate, we are like an electromagnetic field, that travels without material limitations (so the soul is like the message, NOT the modem, in this analogy).
Thus, death can be understood and explained as an electromagnetic transformation, through which, the body returns to its source, the Earth, and the soul returns to its Source as well, the non-material Universe.
Science may not easily accept such an idea, but it is firmly based on science's own logic and knowledge. So at least, it is definitely an argument that science should take quite seriously.

Yes, I do believe in immortality of the soul. There are at least three theories on this: 1 ancestoral memory is passed on, 2 you bring memory with you from your past existance and 3 collective consciousness . . . once a certain point of the population learns something, the entire population knows the point. I believe in the second.

wow, what a question. i believe my soul is my own, my person, who i am. i know that i will die someday as a physical being.my soul will live on, and go to where my life has deemed it to go. i live my life believing that there is a god.you are asking i think, if i will come back in someone else, otherwise why do they seem to have the same traits as me. i don't think your question can have have an honest, definitive answer. if a child seems to be just like your dead ancestor, are they a reincarnation, or is it dna? the question, as you posed it cannot be answered.

Alll I know is what I have been told by New Age practioners and others alike.....Here goes.............just before your spirit and soul come to this earth you are somehow refrained from remembering your past life....because if you could remember everything in the past lives you've had you would go nuts....so just before you come down to earth or are born via your mums tummy...your soul forgets everything prior....that way you can concentrate on learning things for "this" life and thats all...

remember the soul is pure - pure fiction created by the mind.
it only lasts as long as a person is conscious - once consciousness is gone then the soul disappears with it

I think once you're dead, that's it. No should floating around to find some other host. I can't prove or disprove that, though! Have to wait to see what happens!
